Every item on the agenda, explained before the vote
Before each meeting with money or policy on the agenda, we read the full packet, explain every item in plain language, say how we would vote and why, and point out what the record leaves out. After the meeting, we compare our calls with what actually happened.

How we make the call
Four recommendationsThe item is complete, the cost is clear and the record supports it.
A good item with a fixable gap, such as a missing dollar amount, condition or attachment. We name the change.
The packet is missing something needed to vote responsibly. Bring it back once that document is attached.
The item deserves its own discussion and vote instead of passing in a single motion with routine business.
Why we do this
Our standard- Residents should know what is being decided before it is decided. A guide that arrives after the vote is history, not help.
- Every recommendation explains why. If we would vote no or ask for changes, we say what would fix it.
- We call out oversights. Missing contracts, missing amounts and missing minutes are part of the story.
- No one is accused. We focus on the record and practical fixes, not on people.
